I fully support going alcohol free, I made the choice 6 years ago to stop drinking because I didn’t feel like I was living to my fullest capacity. I never really had more than the occasional glass of wine but every time I drank my anxiety would be higher and I felt awful so I decided I just wasn’t going to drink anymore. You may not be ready to give it up completely but consider having an alcohol free summer. There are a lot of myths around not drinking like “people won’t think I am fun to hang out with if I don’t drink” and “I won’t have any fun if everyone is drinking and I am not” .. I am here to tell yo
u that is simply not true.

•No beer, no bloat! Think of how good you’ll look in a bikini •No hangover! No one likes a headache and a sunburn lol •Dehydration. Drinking and being out in the sun = 🥵 •Eating a big breakfast and not being nauseous •Waking up early and enjoying longer summer days •Being fully present and making memories

•Let your friends know you are having an alcohol free summer. It’s so much easier and takes the pressure off of having to say no to drinks all the time.
•When packaging the cooler for the boat or beach, pack some alcohol free drinks. I love seltzer water! They are refreshing and come in so many flavors.
•If you are invited to a party offer to bring non alcoholic drinks for non drinkers and DDs
•Try making a new mocktail recipe! They have so many fun recipes on Pinterest. Lots of Summer themed ones too!
•Try something new this summer! Drinking is expensive, you can use the money you would have spent on alcohol on doing something new or going somewhere fun.
•Instead of going out for dinner and drinks, try coffee and breakfast
•Be present! Take in all of the details. If you are at the beach, feel the sand beneath your feet. Feel the water on your skin. What does it smell like there ? Listen to the sounds of the waves.
